APPLICATIONS FOR 2019 COMMUNITY BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM TO CLOSE ON FRIDAY
Member for Shellharbour, Anna Watson MP, is reminding local councils, sporting and not-for-profit groups that applications for the 2019 Community Building Partnerships Program will close this week.
Applications will close at 5pm sharp on Friday 27 September 2019.
This year, $300,000 is available for projects in each NSW electorate, including Shellharbour. Ms Watson is encouraging local councils, sporting and not-for-profit groups to apply for the funds they need to deliver projects with social, environmental and recreational outcomes, before it’s too late.
“Local sports clubs, charities, and schools are just some of the groups that benefit from this program. In 2018, 15 local community groups from the Shellharbour electorate shared in $330,000 in funding under the Community Building Partnership Program”.
“I’d strongly encourage those local organisations or clubs that need extra funding for infrastructure, such as playgrounds, accessible features, equipment or refurbishment of existing facilities to lodge an application, by 5pm on Friday, so that they do not miss out on a share of $300,000” said Ms Watson.
Projects funded under last year’s program in the Shellharbour electorate include fencing for sporting fields, outdoor learning equipment for local schools and preschools, air conditioning for community centres, and installation of access lifts.
Applicants must read the program guidelines to ensure their club or organisation and proposed project are eligible.
